Preparation of TiO2ZnO composite nanodot films and their light-induced cell detachment performance

  In the present study, ZnO/TiO2 composite nanodot films through a one-step sol-gel method.The nanodot films were synthesized by phase-separation-induced self-assembly method.SEM, TEM, EDS, STEM, XPS, XRD, Raman, UV-vis and water contact angle measurement were used to characterize the different nanodot films.Cell culture and cell detachment assay were also carried out.Live-dead staining was used to study the viability of cell sheet detached by UV365 irradiation.The main results showed that we had prepared TiO2/ZnO composite nanodot films successfully.Ti and Zn were in the form of Ti4+ and Zn2+, respectively.ZnO had enrichment on the surface of nanodot.With the increasing Zn amount, the band gap of composite nanodot increased while the crystallinity and the performance of light-induced hydrophilicity weakened.All the nanodot films showed good cell compatibility and light-induced cell detachment performance.Relatively speaking, ZT0.03 sample had the highest detachment ratio (91.0%) after UV365 irradiation for 20min.Cell sheets detached by UV365 irradiation maintained high activity.It is expected such cell sheet could be utilized in tissue engineering.The present work may be helpful to optimize light-induced cell detachment behavior.
