Background: Renal cell carcinoma(RCC)is the most common malignancy of kidneys found in adults.It is the seventh most common cancer in man and the tenth in women,which account for 2%~3%of all adult malignancies.Extracellular matrix metalloproteinase inducer(EMMPRIN,also known as CD147)is highly expressed in a variety of tumors,facilitating tumor invasion and metastasis.But the expression profiles of CD147 in RCC are controversial.
