In this talk,we will describe some recent results on the existence of closed characteristics on compact convex hypersurface in R2n.Especially,we will talk about the existence of at least four closed characteristics on every compact convex hypersurface in R8,which gives a confirmed answer to a long standing conjecture in Hamiltonian analysis for dimension 8.
