Breast cancer is increasingly common and a major cause of death in women throughout the world.Moreover, it is on the increase, particularly in well-industrialized societies (Reiter RJ et al, Crit Rev Oncol 2007; 13: 303-328).The cause of the high frequency of breast cancer in these societies may be a result of chronodisruption and melatonin suppression due to excessive nighttime light exposure.
