This thesis is aimed to provide a market entry strategy framework for Upfront Chromatography A/S,a Danish SME company,to enter Chinese market. The focuses of this thesis are to analyze key factors of business opportunities(Chinese Dairy industry and licensing patented technology) and challenges(Intellectual Property protection and other barriers) and to suggest solutions for such a small biotechnology-based firm with limited resources when entering China. In this research,Porters Five Forces Model is used to analyze the Chinese Dairy Industry,the most potential market for patented technology of Upfront.The foreign market entry mode selection model of Root(Root RF,1994) is applied to select a suitable entry mode for the company in China. Through the analysis of key factors,a local competition situation,a SWOT analysis and a strategic marketing plan are conducted.Strategy for International Industrial Marketing of Cunningham and Trust vs.Control management approaches of John Hagel and John Seely Brown are discussed to conclude with the effective market entry strategy for the company.
