一、引言在文学理论中,“张力”一词源于英美新批评派理论家艾伦·退特(AllenTate)。他指出:提出张力(Tension)这个名词,并非把它当做一般的比喻来使用,而是作为一个特定名词,是把逻辑术语外延(Ex-tension)和内涵(Intention)去掉前缀而形成的;诗的意义就是指诗的张力,即我们在诗中所能发现的全部外展和内包的有机整体。(Tate,1938)此后“张力”就被用来分析各种文学作品,尤其是诗歌。D.H.劳伦斯的短篇小说被众多学者反复研究,但目前为止,还未有研究对其标题背后的主题张力进行分析。本文试从认知视角研究劳伦斯短篇小说的标题,结合小说内
I. INTRODUCTION In literary theory, the term “tension” is derived from AllenTate, a critique of Anglo-American criticism. He pointed out that the term Tension was not used as a general metaphor, but rather as a specific noun formed by removing the prefixes of the Ex-tension and the Intention of the logical terms. The meaning of poetry refers to the tension that we can find in the poetry of all outreach and inclusive organic whole. (Tate, 1938) Since then “Tension” has been used to analyze various literary works, especially poetry. D.H. Lawrence’s short story has been repeatedly studied by many scholars, but so far, no research has analyzed the theme tension behind the title.
