高考刚刚结束,在高三这一年引领学生复习的过程中,经常有学生问我:“我们复习要不要背单词背课文?”现在告一段落了,对于这个问题有着一些思考。胡春洞教授曾经将外语教学原则定义为“背诵和多种练习的结合”。实际上,背诵作为一种母语学习是主要方法,英语界的前辈们常常能流利地背诵不少精彩的诗歌、文章或片段,说文解字开口成章,令人惊叹不已。然而,近年来,在提倡激发学生兴趣以及进行生动、活泼和自主学习的同时,背诵却被一些人错误地当做死记硬背、束缚学生思想和创造精神的枷锁。

However, in recent years, while encouraging students ’interest and vivid, lively and autonomous learning, memorization is mistaken for some people as rote memorization, restraint of students’ thinking and creativity.
