Under the advocacy of the Sediment Specialized Committee of China Water Conservancy Society and the National Steering Committee for Basic Theoretical Research of Sediment, with the vigorous support of the leaders at all levels and the vast number of sediment researchers throughout the country, the “National Symposium on the Basic Theoretical Research of Sediment” was held in 1992 December 1 to 4 held in Beijing Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower.
