一、教材分析
1、教学内容分析:本单元通过“谈论日常时间安排”这一功能项目继续学习一般过去时态的用法。它是Unit 6 和 Unit 9的延续与拓展,又是Unit 12 的基础和准备。本单元Section B 第2课时(阅读短文)围绕学生一天的作息活动(Jane’s day),巧妙地介绍了实意动词一般过去时在语境中的综合性的运用。
2、教学重点:(1)掌握一些有关一天生活的词汇;(2)“一般现在时态”的三种句式;(3)用一般现在时描述自己一天的活动。
3、教学难点:一般现在时的用法,主要是动词第三人称的单数形式
二、教学目标
1、语言目标:(1)词汇:掌握一些有关一天生活的词汇。(2) 语法:能熟练运用“一般现在时”的三种句式:①肯定句He gets up at…/ I go to school at….②一般疑问句Do you…?/ Does he…? ③特殊疑问句What time do you…? What time does he/she…?(3)功能:能用一般现在时描述自己一天的活动;(4) 话题:能谈论各自的作息时间并做出简单的报告。
2、技能目标:(1)听:通过听录音、模仿来训练学生标准的语音、语调,并通过听一位外国中学生一天的生活介绍(Jim’s day)来培养学生的听力和捕捉特定信息的能力,以及学会如何采访明星或大人物。(2)说:通过展示课件上的图片,让学生互相询问各自的作息时间并做好记录,汇总以后以组为单位汇报本组成员在时间安排上的共同之处。(3)读:通过朗读对话、设置信息沟等形式来培养学生运用阅读策略来理解文章大意的能力。(4)写:能在口头对话的基础上把采访的内容写下来。
3、情感目标:从学生的生活实际出发,用课件和学生感兴趣的话题来引导学生热爱学习、热爱生活。
4、学习策略:(1)通过谈论一天的活动来帮助学生制定自己的学习计划(日计划、周计划或学期计划等),并引起对“习惯行为”的重视,建议学生要养成良好的作息习惯,并强调珍惜时间。(2)能对自己的学习做出评价,正确对待他人评价,从而促进英语学习。
5、文化意识:注意中外学生上学时间及活动的区别,以便更深刻地了解中西方生活作息时间的差异,如:地球的白昼与黑夜同在。
三、教具准备
1、课文磁带和录音机。
2、多媒体课件:有关学生日常生活的一些图片;课文3B部分的答案;还有一个外国学生的视频(对自己一天生活的描述)。
3、教师准备学生学习效果自评表格(见附表),在课堂教学评价时用;另外,为学生每人准备一张空白的日常活动作息时间调查表,要求学生课后完成。
四、教学活动过程Teaching Procedures
Step1Warming up by asking and answering
Good morning, class. Look at the pictures. Let’s talk about the activity when you do. Please work in pairs.(show pictures on Screen)
Task1 T: What time do you usually get up?
Ss:I usually get up at 6:30.
Task2 T: When do people usually eat breakfast?
Ss: People usually eat breakfast in the morning.
T: Now please ask and answer in pairs.
Ss: A: When do people usually eat dinner? B: People usually eat dinner in the evening….
设计意图:通过Step1热身活动,组织教学,把学生的注意力和兴趣吸引到英语教学活动中。另外,通过师生的问与答,把话题引入到一般现在时的教学。
Step23aReading and writing
Task1 T: Here is a letter from Jane to Mona. Please read it quietly and divide it into parts to ask and answer in Pairs.
Ss: Students read the short letter silently and divide it into parts. Then check the answers together.For example:
A:What time do you usually get up?
B:I usually get up at 6:30.
C:What time do you usually eat breakfast?
D:I usually eat breakfast at 7:30.
设计意图:Task1让学生开始训练默读,快速了解文章大意,学会抓住重点,提高阅读的速度。
Task2 T: Please read after the tape recorder (Teacher plays the tape and pauses it sentence by sentence for students to repeat) (After repeating) Now please read the letter again. This time wrote down the name of each activity on the blank line after the times listed at the top. You should complete the activity individually.
Ss: Students read after the tape loudly and pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
设计意图:Task2让学生先静听录音,再大声跟读,并提醒学生注意模仿地道的语音和语调,养成良好的朗读习惯。
Step3 3B Complete the letter from Tom to his friend, Kiang Min.
T: Look at 2b on page68 for information about Tom’s morning. Teacher walks around the class and helps some students who need help.
Ss: Students work in pairs by asking each other about Tom’s morning.
设计意图:在教学中,让学生把学过的旧材料换用一种新的方式进行语言操练活动,往往可收到“事半功倍之效”, 即以新带旧,以旧促新。在小组活动中积极与他人合作,相互帮助,共同完成学习任务,体验成功的喜悦。遇到问题时,能主动向老师或同学请教,取得帮助。
Step4 Doing Pairwork
T: Imagine you are a famous movie star. First fill in the timetable with the things you usually do.
Ss: Students complete their timetable and share the information with their partners.
设计意图:让学生介绍自己的日常安排,充当一回电影明星,学生参与教学活动的兴趣浓,干劲足。运用任务型教学途径,引导学生在活动中学习语言,并提高学习的主动性和积极性。
