Tricia knew it was going to be a bad day when she missed the bus to school. She ran down the road, hoping to 1)catch up with the bus at the traffic lights. But she didn’t make it in time. When she stopped to 2)catch her breath, she was almost run over by a scooter[小型摩托车]!
When she finally arrived in school, the principal 3)caught her red-handed, trying to sneak[潜行] in late. Then, in her English class, her teacher 4)caught her out when he asked her a difficult question. At lunchtime, Tricia decided to try and 5)catch up on her math assignment. But she’deft her books at home. Then, her best friends Dana and Meg laughed at her because she didn’t 6)catch on to their joke.
But just as she was leaving school, a big smile from one of the guys on the football team 7)caught her off guard. He asked her to go to the school dance with him. She’d inally 8)caught a break!
