《尤利西斯》是20世纪最伟大的西方文学著作之一,也是典型的意识流派小说的产物。乔伊斯作为意识流的主要作家之一,在前人的基础上,借助《尤利西斯》稍显复杂而极具朦胧色彩的思想表达来实现其对传统语言技巧的改编。《尤利西斯》的语言变异贯穿整篇文章,从语言词汇到事物意象再到整体的文章结构,都显露出乔伊斯的创新精神。《尤利西斯》的语言变异最明显的部分不是原著,而是在其翻译译本中。本文对《尤利西斯》语言变异及在译文中的再现的研究,深入地挖掘了乔伊斯语言变异的具体表现,进一步增加了读者对意识流派小说的认识和《尤利西斯》的理解。
Ulysses is one of the greatest works of western literature in the 20th century and a product of a typical stream of consciousness novels. As one of the major writers of stream of consciousness, Joyce, based on his predecessors, reorganized his traditional language skills with the help of the somewhat complex and extremely obscure thought expression of “Ulysses”. The language variation of “Ulysses” runs through the entire article, revealing Joyce’s innovative spirit from the language vocabulary to the object image to the whole article structure. The most obvious part of Ulysses’s linguistic variation is not the original but the translation. This article studies the variations of Ulysses ’s language and its translation in translation, digs out the concrete manifestation of Joyce’s linguistic variation, and further increases readers’ awareness of the novels of the consciousness genre and the “Ulysses” understanding.
