今年一月，教育部发出通知，要求各地及早着手编写乡土教材，在秋季开学时供应各学校使用。教学乡土教材，可以补充全国统一教材的不足，使教学内容更加丰富充实，生动具体，能更密切的联系实际，结合生产，加深对课堂知识的理解，有助于知识质量的提高；同时，运用乡土材料进行教育，可以激发学生热爱家乡、热爱祖国、热爱劳动人民的思想情感，从而产生建设家乡、建设社会主义的志愿，这对加强学生的政治思想教育也有很大帮助。因此，编好和教好乡土教材，对于深入贯彻教育方针和促使教育为生产服务，有着重要的意义。
