尽管牟宗三儒学思想作出了杰出贡献,但其思想方法也存在着严重缺陷。这主要指两个方面:一是对良心本心的理解过于陈旧,未能摆脱感性理性的两分模式,总体上坚持的仍然是两分方法;二是对康德智的直觉思想理解有失准确,认为道德之心创生存有的思维方式即是智的直觉,不仅直接将其创生的对象称为物自身,而且以此作为一种基本范式,扩展到圆善论和合一论之中。从整体上看,这种方法已经没有了太大的发展空间,可以说已经终结了。
