This study samples the two forest types in Phou Khao Khoauy National Park, Laos (40 km northeast of Vientiane) to study the factors that determine tree species distribution. In this study, 11 plots of 50 m × 50 m were set up in 300 ~ 450 m above sea level, and all the trees with DBH more than 10 cm were measured. The sample plots were randomly selected from the forest types (mixed deciduous forests, mainly beech families, and evergreen forests), and 47 families, 70 genera and 123 species were identified. Soil samples were collected at two locations in each plot, each collected at two depths of 0-10 cm and 10-20 cm, respectively, and were analyzed for basic soil parameters (p H value, organic matter OM, nitrogen N And phosphorus P, potassium oxide K2O, particle size and texture). The plant communities were identified by cluster analysis. The effects of soil on plant distribution were studied using NMDS classification and nonparametric test, and the relationship between tree species composition and soil conditions in Phou Khao Khoauy National Park in Laos was revealed.
