The “Oxygen Station Design Code” and “Acetylene Station Design Code” were approved by the State Construction Commission and the Ministry of Machine Building. Since July 1, 1979, they have begun trials nationwide. Over the past year or so, a total of about 30 letters have been received from all parts of the country (no direct interviews have been compiled). The contents of the inquiries are various, and most of them are the problem of fire separation between the station and other related facilities and the pressure test of the acetylene pipeline. In order to carry out smoothly, we will now outline and explain some issues that are easy to be misunderstood in the implementation of the regulations. 1. The relationship between the design specifications of oxygen and acetylene stations and the “Code for Fire Protection of Architectural Design” is generally easy to ignore and thus leads to misunderstandings. In the design specifications for oxygen and acetylene stations, there is no specific reference to the fire separation distance. It is stated in the General Regulations only: “Oxygen station design should be performed in accordance with the provisions of this specification, and should comply with the current ”Code for fire protection in architectural design“. ... and other standards and specifications.” Therefore, the relevant defense
