干2004年元月由原机械汽车、冶金、建材产业工会合并组建的湖北省机冶建材工会,按照省总“联系一批、指导一批、协管一批、直管一批”的总体要求,认真贯彻全总“组织起来,切实维权”的工作方针,加强对直属企业单位改革改制工作的指导,积极维护改制企业职工权益。动员和组织本产业职工开展技术革新、技术比武活动,大力推行素质工程：围绕涉及产业职工切身利益的重大问题深入基层调查研究,探索维权机制建设；认真做好扶贫送温暖和劳模评选推荐及困难补助工作,积极帮助民营企业组建工会并指导其开展工作。在促进企业发展,维护职工权益方面起到了不可替代的作用。
