The Netherlands Post plans to extend the retirement age of employees to 67 as one of many initiatives to cover the pension gap. Following a series of intensive dialogues with unions since December 2012, Dutch postal and union negotiators reached an agreement on the retirement age of their staff. Under the agreement, the Netherlands Post's unlimited obligation to pay the pension deficit will be phased out.
