记录时代的面孔,更在乎光影的表达。叶祥鼎是我八十年代初在上海进修人像摄影时的同学,三十三年过去,他用《祥光鼎影》的个展把自己五十年的从业生涯作出一个总结。回溯摄影史,在照相馆的肖像摄影中,曾经走出过无数的大师。从柏林的照相馆师傅奥古斯特·桑德到当年在渥太华开设肖像工作室的优素福·卡许,从在上海红灯照相馆历炼过的吴印咸到在香港开设过景康摄影室的郑景康,长期的职业磨炼,无疑是他们成为一代大师的起点。
Record the face of the times, but also care about the expression of light and shadow. Ye Xiangding was a classmate of my portrait photography in Shanghai in the early 1980s. After 33 years, he used his solo exhibition “Xiang Guang Ding Ying” to give a summary of his 50-year career. Back to the history of photography, portrait photography in the studio, had gone out of countless masters. From Augustus Sander, a photo studio master in Berlin, to Yusuf Kahu, who opened a portrait studio in Ottawa that year, from Wu Yin-huan, who had been practicing at the Shanghai Red Light Photography Gallery, to King Kong’s Hong Kong studio Zheng Jingkang, long-term professional exercise, no doubt they have become the starting point of a generation of masters.
