数学本身是一种语言,一种简约的科学语言。新数学课程标准中明确地提出了:“数学是一种文化,它的内容、思想、方法和语言是现代文明的重要组成部分。”与此同时,对于数学教育而言,语言活动是一项重要的数学活动。每天课堂内外的讲授、听讲、回答、讨论,还有看书、解题等等,都要同语言打交道,以语言为媒介,借助书面或口头的表达学会原理、概念、公式和方法。在这些过程中,语言是描述、表达意义的工具,思想交流的载体,甚至还被当做处理的对象,它有着不容忽视的功能。
