In order to explore the relationship between macrophage colony-stimulating factor, scavenger receptor and oxidized low density lipoprotein and atherosclerosis, we observed the effect of recombinant human macrophage colony-stimulating factor on scavenger receptor pathway of murine peritoneal macrophages And the effects of recombinant human macrophage colony-stimulating factor on the accumulation of intracellular cholesterol esters induced by oxidized low density lipoprotein (LDL). The results showed that recombinant human macrophage colony-stimulating factor increased the number of scavenger receptors on the surface of cultured mouse peritoneal macrophages in a dose and time-dependent manner for the binding and degradation of oxidized low-density lipoprotein Increased intracellular cholesterol ester accumulation. It is indicated that macrophage colony stimulating factor can increase the binding and degradation of oxidized low density lipoprotein in mouse peritoneal macrophages by increasing the number of scavenger receptors, thereby increasing the intracellular cholesterol ester content and promoting the formation of foam cells in the arterial wall .
