“Ran Mou Epitaph ” is one of the few preserved historical materials written by the Gaogouli people, whose historical value has not been able to be effectively used for a long time due to the diffuse passage of text. According to the latest interpretation from Mr. Geng Tiehua, the owner of the epitaph is indeed Mu Mou, and the writer is his grandchildren Lou. Epitaph recorded the life story of Ran Mu, as well as his family, including the Mu Kou Lou suffered by the King Goguryeo’s appreciation. From the perspective of historical studies, the remnants of the epitaphs help us to understand the relationship between the Kao-Gori royal power and the aristocracy, the internal differentiation of the aristocracy, and the conquest and rule of the Northern Kofee Goguryeo.
