已知吸烟对机体的损害性,其中吸烟与肺癌及冠心病等的关系尤其受到重视。近年来的许多报告也重视吸烟对口腔组织的损害,本文就吸烟与口腔病变的关系加以探讨。对口腔粘膜的影响吸烟刺激能促进口腔粘膜角化。即使在无角化的颊及口底粘膜上皮细胞,持续的吸烟刺激也可导致增厚及产生角蛋白,并出现临床症状。腭粘膜固有的角化细胞则因吸烟而角化更为显著。
