This chanting tone is extremely contagious, and has the beauty of music, hailed as “the first tune of modern recital”. However, its origin and causes have not been well studied for a long time. This essay conducts a careful investigation and analysis from the sources of recitation, source and tone of music, the creation and development of Tang Wenzhi and his own voice talent, and then concludes that Tang is composed of three elements. This conclusion has been recognized by today’s chanting community. This article can give people the impression: For a chant, you must explore its source clearly, explain its origin, otherwise it is not enough to prove its “traditional” nature.
