燃烧法测定总硫是在测定钢、铸铁和铁合金时采用的方法。其原理是在氧气流内,温度1300—1400℃下燃烧,将全部硫氧化成SO_2,用H_2O吸收,用标准碘液滴定得到亚硫酸。矿石分析文献谈到,由于许多原因,在氧气中灼烧硫的测定并不是定量进行的,必须采用碘溶液的经验滴定度。因此该文介绍采用更适当地在二氧化碳气流中进行灼烧来代替氧气中灼烧的方法。在二氧化碳气流中灼烧的办法具有硫按计量地转变为SO_2的优点,因此也就可以使用碘溶液的理论滴定度。文中指出该法应用
Determination of total sulfur combustion method is used in the determination of steel, cast iron and ferroalloy method. The principle is in the oxygen stream, the temperature of 1300-1400 ° C burning, all the sulfur oxidation into SO_2, with H_2O absorption, titration with standard iodine to get sulfite.
