MOTOROLA Launches a New Power MOSFET. This power MOSFET, called Sensefet, is used for solid-state power control for lossless current sensing. It takes advantage of the fact that all power MOS transistors are basically integrated circuits. Each power MOSFET contains thousands to tens of thousands of tiny MOSFETs. All in parallel, each transistor has the same on-resistance and flows through the same current. No resistor required No need to have a current sense resistor in series with the load, which often results in unacceptable power loss and voltage drop or increased output impedance of the voltage source. There is also no need to plug into a troublesome converter, it hinder the DC measurement, and error in the ramp current measurement.
