In practical projects, buildings or structures are often placed on the top of a slope body due to the need of engineering layout and the limitations of topographical conditions. However, because the slope body generally does not meet the conditions of the semi-infinite space body, it is not appropriate to directly select the allowable bearing capacity of the foundation from the relevant provisions of the “Foundation Design Standards”, otherwise there will be accidents where the basement near the slope is excessively settled. In order to solve this problem, currently two methods are generally adopted: 1 reduce the allowable bearing capacity of the foundation; 2 control the horizontal distance of the outer edge of the foundation. In the general case, the first method is mostly adopted for a foundation with a large width; when the basic width is smaller (less than 3m), the second method is mostly adopted. For the latter, the “Fundamentals for Foundation Design” TJ7-74 has been clearly defined, but for the former, that is, the foundation width is greater than 3m, the allowable bearing capacity in the foundation should be selected. It is intended to conduct a preliminary analysis of this.
