在2001年北京第九届国际全景画会议上,本人发表了《关于近期创作的西方全景画》的演讲。看到中国自20世纪80年代全景画艺术令人吃惊的复兴,身处西方的我们当时对此知之甚少,我觉得我应该对地球另一端的全景画领域里正在发生的变化进行研究。在2001年的全景画会议期间,我们参观了中国的两处全景画：位于北京的中国第一幅全景画和几天之后我们要再次参观的锦州辽沈战役全景画。其中
At the Ninth International Panorama Conference in Beijing in 2001, I delivered a speech entitled “Western Panorama on Recent Creation.” From the startling revival of China’s panorama art since the 1980s, we knew little about it in the West, and I think I should study the changes that are taking place in the panoramic landscape at the other end of the globe.
