The Hongshui River Basin contains abundant hydropower resources and is one of the hydropower bases that the country has recently developed. The Tianshengqiao II hydropower station is a power station built by using the 180m drop of the Leigongtan section of the Nanpanjiang River on the upper reaches of the Hongshui River. The installed capacity is 1,220,000 kW, which is the largest installed capacity, the longest diversion tunnel, and the largest tunnel diameter in the diversion-type hydropower stations under construction in China. In the process of construction, the hydropower station encountered a variety of adverse geological phenomena and was referred to by experts at home and abroad as the “Museum of Bad Geological Phenomenon”.
