《后汉书·东沃沮传》记载的朝鲜半岛东沃沮,国内外史学界一向很重视,因为他们与大陆民族有血缘关系,与中原王朝存在着密切的隶属关系。 可是史学界对东沃沮的研究,多维系千百年来的传统之说,认为东沃沮是秽貊人,住在泥河(今龙兴江)以北,与朝鲜半岛的“靺鞨”是两个不同的部族。笔者在研究东部民族史过程中,接触了中朝古籍和新发掘出的考古资料,对此传统之说提出了异议:
