班公湖地区出露的地层主要是侏罗系和白垩系。中、上侏罗统(J_(2～3))主要分布在公班湖以北和以东地区;下、上白垩统(K_1～K_2~1)分布在班公湖南北两侧的广大地区。在这些地层中,有大小不等的超镁铁质岩侵入体。著名的班公湖断裂带在湖区东部通过(图1)。湖区的绝大多数岩石均遭受程度不同的区域热动力变质。
The strata exposed in the Bangong Lake area are mainly Jurassic and Cretaceous. Middle and Upper Jurassic (J_ (2 ~ 3)) are mainly distributed to the north and east of Gongban Lake; the upper and lower Cretaceous (K_1 ~ K_2 ~ 1) are distributed in vast areas on both sides of north and south of Baogong Lake . Among these strata are ultramafic intrusions of varying sizes. The famous Bangan Lake fault zone passes east of the Lake District (Figure 1). The vast majority of the rocks in the lake region are subject to thermodynamic metamorphism to varying degrees.
