At the end of March 1954, I visited Professor Heidegger in Freiburg and had the honor to consult him about the significance of Christianity to European culture today. And it is already the end of January 1955 when I put the words of the meeting discussed in the text published in the column of “Tokyo New Branch”. Since I have always been concerned about the psychological and spiritual conditions in Japan today, I must not allow myself to excuse myself from these problems all day long. When I have a chance, I will seek advice directly from Professor Heidegger. At the beginning of the meeting, Heidegger often interrogated the Japanese way of thinking and the Japanese art. I just tried my best to elaborate. Since I was often asked about the process of meeting, I would concisely comment on this.
