美国实业界巨子、麦当劳事业创始人雷·克罗克在谈到其成功经验时特别强调了常识的作用。他认为,常识虽然简单,但确实有用,“我发现自己虽然成了百万富翁,但这对我仍然有用”。克罗克以自己一生的经历践约了一个成功者的常识:“如果你看准某件事,就要全身心地去做。”美国著名咨询专家 H·沃特曼和 J·彼得斯,通过对美国一些出色企业的调查研究,发现它们共同的成功经验可以概括为八个方面:立即行动、贴近用户、鼓励创新、尊重员工、深入现场、不离本行、精简机构、合理分权。这八个方面没有一个是“惊人之见”,可以说都属常识之列。

He believes that although common sense is simple, it is actually useful. “I found myself becoming a millionaire, but it still works for me.” Krooke followed his life experience with the knowledge of a successful person: “If you look for something, you must do it with all your heart.” The famous American consulting experts H. Waterman and J. Peters passed the Surveys conducted by some prominent American companies have found that their common successes can be summed up in eight areas: immediate action, closeness to users, encouragement of innovation, respect for employees, depth of field, closeness to the Bank, streamlining of institutions, and rational decentralization. None of these eight aspects are “surprising sights” and can be said to be common sense.
