刘家琨一直驻守于中国的西部地区,从建筑系毕业之后,他曾一度远离建筑转而投身文学创作,这种文学思维为他后来的建筑设计建立了一个独特的参照体系。他的作品摒弃了宏大叙事或深沉的象征意义,只是通过追求建筑本来的光影、叙事效果与情节意外,来实现他对空间效果和体验的预设;同时,建筑选择了“低技”的策略,即以低造价和低技术手段营造高度的艺术品质。其作品强调对古老的历史文明优势的发掘利用,力图通过令人信服的设计哲学和充足的智慧含量,在经济条件、技术水准和建筑艺术之间寻找一个平衡点,由此探寻一条适用于经济落后但文明深厚的国家或地区的建筑策略。
Liu Jiakun has been stationed in China’s western region after graduating from the Department of Architecture, he once turned away from the building to join literary creation, this literary thinking for his subsequent architectural design to establish a unique reference system.
