文艺学作为一门科学有科学的文艺学与文学的文艺学之分。但从整个文艺学的知识构成来看，它一方面不可能成为达到完全认识“文学”的科学；另一方面还导致知识与文学创造能力的分离，因此文艺学不能成为“学”，而应通过“审美意象”的体悟，获得文学的本体存在─—诗性。体悟文学（不是学文学）是获得诗性、拥有文学创造能力的根本途径。
