泡桐的树皮薄、易碰破,损伤后很难愈合,且伤口随着粗生长逐渐加深,对材质影响很大,严重者甚至会引起死亡。如发生伤皮的情况,可以进行人工“植皮”来补救。方法是:在树干伤口处,用小刀把伤痕边缘切割整齐,方、圆形均可。然后从本树或其它泡桐的树枝上挖剥一块鲜皮,剪成同补皮处一样的大小和形状,趁湿吻合贴好,用湿布或塑料布包扎再用绳捆紧,外涂泥土。半月后解开,即已愈合。
