“Zhuangzi sound and meaning” is one of the important reference books for studying the history of ancient Chinese thought. It originally belonged to the twenty-sixth, twenty-seventh and the 28th volumes of “Classic Interpretation” written by Tang and Lu Deming. Due to the age-old, the earliest surviving engravings are rare. Two kinds of Southern Song carvings (hereinafter referred to as the North Picture Book and Tian Li Ben), which are respectively stored in the Beijing Library of China and the Library of Japan Tenri University, are extremely rare and valuable to the world. The former is originally hidden in the Qing Dynasty, after the tributaries of the Song and Yuan dynasties handed down the “classic interpretation of the text” thirty volumes of the book “Zhuangzi sound and meaning.” The latter refers to another Song class “Zhuangzi sound and meaning” handed down by a Japanese Ph.D. This article wants to be less familiar to our readers
