The British Inguri hydropower station in the Soviet Union is a major project of a river crossing with an installed capacity of 1.325 million kilowatts and is now generating electricity. The total head of the power station is 409.5 meters, of which 226 meters is formed by the first arch dam with a height of 271.5 meters. The remaining 183.5 meters of water head is obtained from the pressure diversion tunnel and the pressureless tailrace tunnel, and the tailrace tunnel is 3 kilometers long.
