1955年4月2日,铀矿地质勘查工作管理机构——地质部第三局在北京成立,揭开了中国核地质事业的序幕。1955年,核地质队伍发现一大批放射性异常点。1957年7月,中南地质局三○九队十一分队在广东翁源县境内找到被命名为“希望”的铀矿化点,经勘探成为大型铀矿床中国首次在花岗岩体内发现的大型铀矿床。1957年8月,中南地质局三○九队四分队在江西省乐安进行航空测量时发现903号异常,经长期勘探,发展成中国最大的火山岩型铀矿田——相山矿田。
April 2, 1955, uranium geological exploration work management agencies - Department of Geology, the third set up in Beijing, opened the prelude to China’s nuclear geology. In 1955, the nuclear geological team discovered a large number of radioactive abnormalities. In July 1957, 309 units from the South-South Bureau of Geology found the uranium mineralization point named “Hope” in the territory of Wengyuan County, Guangdong Province. After exploration, it became the first large-scale uranium deposit discovered in China by granite Uranium deposit. In August 1957, the 309th Faction of the South China Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources found that No. 903 anomaly occurred during the aerial survey in Le’an, Jiangxi Province. After long-term exploration, it developed into the Xiangshan Mine, the largest volcanic uranium ore field in China.
