Tongxiang, a prosperous city in northern Zhejiang, began to build up its ecology shortly after its industrialization started. We recently visited Wufeng Village, one of the ten villages involved in a pilot ecologic project. The village has switched successfully to an ecological mode for its local economy. In this mode, villagers have brought pollution under control, safeguarded their resources, and improved their lives in an environment-friendly ambience.
