At the top of Kitt, a successful imaging system of 64 PbS arrays was successfully tested. At 1.65 microns, a few pictures were initially taken of low-contrast solar particles with a signal-to-noise ratio of more than 200 and a resolution of 1 arcsec. This article addresses the issue of infrared systems that image low-contrast targets.
