From 1982 to 1984, a unit of Leningrad continued to conduct experimental research and engineering practice on steel fiber reinforced concrete piles. If steel fiber reinforced concrete pile heads are prefabricated beforehand, then the pile heads are cast together with ordinary reinforced concrete piles to form local fiber-reinforced concrete piles, whose impact resistance is 1 to 4 times higher than ordinary reinforced concrete piles. In recent years, Leningrad’s General Administration of Construction and Industry and other units have conducted a series of research and promotion of steel fiber reinforced concrete. From 1982 to 1983, 11650 steel fiber reinforced concrete piles were used in 42 projects.
