Introduction The Rand Basin is located in the Transvaal province of South Africa and the Free State of Orange, oval-shaped area of about 52,000 square kilometers. Most of the Proterozoic gold-bearing stratigraphy in the Viterwatland Basin is covered by younger strata containing the gold-uranium deposit that has the largest gold reserves in the world to date. The Gusan gold deposit is produced at the Viterwatlande (2500 or 2600 million years). The group consists of river facies, lacustrine facies, and marine sediments interbedded with a small amount of volcanic rocks. Bush Weber two billion years ago
