The article titled “Verification of Safety Voltage for Single-phase Short-circuit of 380/220 Volt Systems” (hereinafter referred to as “verification”) published in the third issue of the magazine in 1984 accurately presented a problem that should be emphasized in power supply design. During operation, due to various reasons, the quick-break protection may not operate when a single-phase short circuit occurs. Therefore, the safety voltage should be verified during design so that the contact voltage is lower than the safe voltage. However, the safety voltage verification method proposed in the article and the condition that the safety voltage can not be verified are both debatable.
