Yuxi Ping Site is an important settlement site in the Three Gorges area. In 2002, excavations discovered the remains of Neolithic, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, Han and Tang dynasties for a long time. Neolithic excavated in this excavation contains remains of two phases, “Yuxi Ping Culture” and “Zhongba Culture”, which are quite representative of the Three Gorges area in Chongqing and of great value to the improvement of Chongqing Neolithic culture series. Excavations of the Shang and Zhou Dynasties remains in the Three Gorges area in the past more rare, to make up for the lack of relevant information. The excavations of the remains of the Han Dynasty have some significance to the understanding of the settlement form of the Han Dynasty in the Xiajiang River area. The tombs and ruins of the Tang Dynasty in the Three Gorges area are rare. The excavation enriched the relevant materials and provided a new understanding of the gold and copper statues unearthed in 2000.
