读者拿到报纸,首先便是大幅度地“扫瞄”各版的标题。常有这样的事,某篇报道内容写得本不错,但由于标题处理得不好而使读者失之交臂。就像人们恋爱中的第一印象,若第一印象不佳,再往下便没有什么“可谈”的了。笔者熟悉的一位青年作家,几年前他欲出一本小说集,出版社也同意,但由于订数上不去,这位作家情急智生,换了个书名(其实也就是标题),让出版社重新征订,结果一下子多订出了数千册,双方皆大欢喜。可见标题的诱读和导读作用是无论如何不能低估的。但是,做好标题并非易事。笔者在编辑工作中曾有这样的体会,有时为了把一条标题制作得好些,简直绞尽了脑汁儿。不但吃饭时想,走路时想,连睡觉时也在想,还几次闹出过闯红灯和骑车越过家门达一
