柳亚子说:“在中国文学史上,我想总不好把曼殊的名字抹去吧,要是一部完善的著作的话。”①我想,是的。作为一位盛年不禄的早慧奇才,苏曼殊在文学史上应当占有一席之地。遗憾的是,自从他殒逝迄今,国内没有给他以足够的重视,没有对他作深入的研究,尽管在二十年代曾出现“曼殊热”(鲁迅语)。更何况,关于他的寥若晨星的研究文章,多从实证视角作微观的考察,而在诸如哲学、文化学等亦可一试的角度却使之交臂。本文则试图对他作一宏观的描述和审视,勾勒出他相对完整的轮廓。在我们看来,苏曼殊的个体生命蕴藉着极为丰富的内涵。这集中体现在,他身上交织着两条生命脉络——理知层面的其同时代人所不曾具有的生命债权意识觉醒和心理层面的对生命价值真实的从未中断的祈求与呼唤.在我们的审美景观中,苏曼殊既有于浑沌中崭露的自命不凡的清高与傲岸,又有在晦暗前表露的无法理清的哀怨与烦闷;既有珍视生命价值的永不忏悔的真诚与忠实,又有回眸虚无世态而痛心疾首的祈索意义的沉重和孤独。但他最迷人的诱惑并不在于他厕身世间的抗议及受挫后流露的伤感意绪,而在于他那抗议行为折射于人本身的对生命价值真实的迫寻。这就构筑了苏曼殊生命存在的相对独立的自足结构。下面我们就围绕上述观点予以阐释。请先看苏曼殊的
