The film education program founded by Columbia University in the early 20th century was not significant in the history of early film education. Due to the massive increase of immigrants and the development and expansion of the movie industry, thanks to the support of the industrial tycoons and the joining of the cultural elite, Columbia’s program of film education can promote the formation of film vocational education and enable the film to attain its formal status in the school rather than just Other teaching aids, and further from vocational education to general education forward, forming the prototype of today’s film education model.
