In order to effectively prevent clogging, Ludwig Krieger, headquartered in Karlsruhe, Germany, has developed a Clip-Clean System as a new measure to solve the screening problem of refractory materials. The principle is very simple. Polyurethane blocks (balls) placed underneath the surface of the knock-out unit accelerate the screening material up to 25 g (g is the gravitational acceleration) and therefore significantly exceed the usual 6 g limit. They keep the screen surface from getting stuck and preventing the screen from getting clogged. The interchangeable center web accessory in the knockout remover can be easily modified and installed in the factory. This article describes in more detail the successful application of this new type of knock-out device to the Illerkies gravel plant in Germany.
