所谓“大题”是指作文题目范围大。如《谈谈精神文明》《论竞争》《环境与人》等等,其范围不能说不大。题目范围大,写作时更感到无从下手,或者写出来空空洞洞,言之无物。遇到这类大题目应如何写呢?我们不妨来个“大题小作”法。所谓“小作”,是指在写那些范围大的题目时,要选择某一个角度或侧面来写,而不要面面俱到,贪大求全。空说不如举例,举清人彭淑端写的《为学》做为例子来谈谈:
The so-called “big questions” refers to a wide range of essay topics. Such as “talk about the spiritual civilization” “on competition” “environment and people” and so on, its scope can not be little. The scope of the topic is so large that when writing, it feels like it is impossible to start or write empty holes, saying nothing. How to write such large topics? We may wish to come up with a “big trick” method. The so-called “small works” mean that when writing a wide range of topics, we must choose a certain angle or side to write, rather than exhaustive, greed for the whole.
