11997年7月底至8月初，以中国社会科学院研究生院副院长陈东琪教授为团长的赴日访问团，对日本的东京大学、京都大学、近畿大学、高山专科学校和大阪中央批发市场、神户工业困地等进行了考察，在了解日本市场经济组织和工业发展经验的同时，就中国体制改革的道路、方式、经验和教训等问题交换了看法，被访日本专家和公司高层管理人员，对中国改革和发展中的有关问题提出了一些建议。
From the end of July to the beginning of August, 11997, delegations to Japan headed by Professor Chen Dongqi, the vice president of the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, visited Japan, including Tokyo University, Kyoto University, Kinki University, Takayama High School and Osaka Central Wholesale Market, Kobe Industrial difficulties and other issues. While understanding Japan's market economy organizations and industrial development experiences, the two sides exchanged views on the road, ways, experiences and lessons learned in the reform of the Chinese system. They interviewed Japanese experts and top management of the company, Some suggestions have been put forward on relevant issues in China's reform and development.
